Harriette Terbell is the managing partner of FGI Equity.
FGI Equity focuses on making minority and majority private equity investments in middle market growth companies. Ms. Terbell brings years of management and operating experience in strategic business planning, organization turnaround and restructuring, executive talent sourcing, and CEO and leadership team mentoring/coaching.
In 1994 Ms. Terbell founded Terbell Partners Ltd. (TPL), a firm that advises and invests in middle market consumer products, retail, health care, professional services and financial services companies. Examples include Advanced Health Technologies, American Eagle Outfitters, Body Central, Danskin, FGI, Hotelworks.com, OK International, Secor International, Slim-Fast among others.
Prior to founding TPL, Ms. Terbell was a partner with The Hay Group and an officer at Fleet Financial. She was also a founding general partner in Alsacia Venture Investments (AVI) a venture capital fund that specialized in pre-seed, seed, early-stage and follow-on investments in medical devices, diagnostics, drug delivery systems and non- traditional pharmaceuticals and informatics.
Ms. Terbell is chairman of the board of Jack Robie LLC and a founder of the Darien Rowayton Bank. Previously she sat on the boards of Covington Holdings, Inc., CRA, Inc., Jumpstart for Children and Critical Quest, LLC. For several years she chaired the Annual Fund for Fairfield Country day School and served on the Steering Committee for its first Capital Campaign. She was also a parent fundraiser for The Hotchkiss School and a Trinity College Parent Director.
Ms. Terbell received a B.A. in English and Sociology from Elmira College and was a Ph.D. Candidate in Demography and Sociology at Brown University, studying under a National Science Foundation Fellowship.
