FGI Supports COFH Mobile Outreach Program in New York City

FGI partners with Coalition for the Homeless to donate and deliver care packages to the homeless throughout
New York City.

New York, March 4, 2014 – Every year, in partnership with Coalition for the Homeless, FGI distributes toiletry and personal care kits to those in need around New York City. As a result of this year’s exceptionally cold winter season, FGI also wanted to include warm fleece blankets in their care packages. After speaking with several distributors, FGI was thrilled when Jason Moore at PeachFur Fleece generously offered to provide a matching number of high quality fleece blankets at a deeply discounted price.

“FGI is proud to support the Coalition for the Homeless and their commitment to end mass homelessness in New York City,” said David DiPiero, President and CEO of FGI. “We’ve created various ways for our employees to lend their support as well. Each year the company hosts a toy drive to collect gifts that are distributed to children at Coalition’s holiday party. We also donate hundreds of care packages, all of which are put together and distributed by our employees.”

On January 29th, 2014, employees and friends of FGI gathered to spend the evening volunteering with Coalition’s Grand Central Food Program. This mobile outreach program, which operates every night of the year, is designed to reach homeless living on the streets throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. The group from FGI travelled in CFTH vans stopping at 31 designated areas delivering hot meals directly from the vans. Thanks to PeachFur Fleece, volunteers also distributed much needed warm winter fleece blankets in addition to the toiletry kits donated by FGI.
